Kale. Kale-aid, kale salads, fried kale, baked kale, kale chips – it’s all the rage. I admit – I have jumped on the kale wagon as well. I slip it in stir-fry for the kids, I throw some in a salad for my husband, I even tried to bake it like a chip, which didn’t turn out quite how I envisioned. However, the most delicious way I enjoy kale is in a smoothie!
I make this delicious kale smoothie almost every morning to keep me energized and rearing to go until lunch. This is especially important on the mornings when we at Vela Adventures are leading rock climbing or zip-lining expeditions (ahhh, the tie-in).
I know many of you adventurous superwomen out there are looking for ways to make your days healthier and to give yourselves more energy for your everyday excursions. So, behold the delicious Vela Green Smoothie.

Vela Green Smoothie
½ of a juicy pear
½ cup of kale (leaves only)
½ cup of spinach
1 cup of almond milk
1 tsp ground ginger
2 Tbsp pistachios
3 ice cubes
